As of today, that’s dropped to 2,085 viewers across 220 channels. Around its release, the game had approximately 111,000 viewers across 1,497 channels. However, the Twitch stats are a little harsher. That seems pretty successful for a lower-budget game, and we’d assume that plenty of those who purchased it are still playing. According to Wccftech, the game sold 500,000 copies across all platforms during its first week. The only hard numbers we have about Evil Dead: The Game is how many copies it’s sold and the current Twitch statistics. Usually, we’d check the current Steam player count and extrapolate from there, but it’s exclusive to Epic Game Store on PC. Unfortunately, on it’s only available on platforms that don’t publish their game populations. Change your goals to having fun.We don’t have a player count for Evil Dead: The Game. If there’s one thing you take from this, is don’t give into the idea that there’s “toxic” play, subscribe to the idea that there’s a deranged killer in the map killing by any means and the survivors are surviving by any means. Hopefully one day I can log back on as a solo player and have fun with the game.
Where are the days we use to stare at the micheal Myers of old in wonder and amazement simply because we loved seeing new things come to our game, we weren’t worried about camping or tunneling, those were just ways to play the game, after all, you can’t expect a brutal killer to play fair! There’s so many things that I think we’ve lost our way on as a community and I don’t see things getting better anytime soon.
We don’t see cool new killers with interesting back stories and cool new abilities we see broken kits and unhealthy gameplay. There is no more wonder or sense of terror, there is no more fun an interesting gameplay because we’ve seen it all. In my eyes, this game started to go downhill when people started to care more about the balance of a game intended to be unbalanced, than the fun they were having along the way. I started joining discord’s and trying to play with new random players, some I still play other games with to this day. I hit red ranks in a week after my first time playing killer, quickly became a trapper main (love my knockoff Jason) held a 20 game pig 4K streak and hold most (new ones came out) steam achievements. I remember becoming a killer main when all my friends outgrew the novelty of the game and I no longer had people to play with. I remember theHalloween DLC and thinking it was so cool that I could play a game as micheal Myers.
I remember trembling in fear hiding in lockers or crouching around the map long before I ever thought to purposely gain the killers attention to run in circles. Thought this would be a good place for this Here’s my final goodbye to this game and it’s community: DBD has the most hours on steam of any other game (save the civilization series, but those are all over multiple games) I remember originally not wanting to play the game because they only had one knockoff Jason looking killer.

The developers are writings spaghetti code that is difficult to maintain because they’re not good developers or because the owners are too greedy to Invest in fixing their product so long as people keep buying bunny Feng and whatever else.

This isn’t 40 year old legacy software designed in a time before OOP existed. They said they need to rewrite the whole game because they didn’t expect things to grow and expand how they did so different parts of the codebase grew unexpectedly. Their own studio made a post here the other day basically telling us they’re incompetent. As a killer I usually stomp the survivors because they’re new or it’s a complete nightmare of toxicity.īHVR doesn’t care about the state of the game so long as people keep buying cosmetic bullshit that does nothing to improve the game. As a survivor my games tend be a quick 4 escape with minimal downs or I get tunneled and camped while the team does no objectives. I died on hook the other while the other 3 remaining survivors were in lockers or just hiding behind trees. I’ve been in matches lately as a survivor where I’ve run the killer for 3+ minutes to start a match and not a single gen has popped. It’s incredible how the game is not mechanically difficult at all compared to other games yet the skill gap is outrageous.
